A NEW group has been set up to try to improve play areas in Burnley.
The town’s play strategy, co-ordinated by Burnley Council, is made up of representatives from the private and public sector.
Council chiefs say it will support the people who help out with play activities and areas in the borough through information and training.
The group met recently and devised a set of play standards to help groups in running activities.
The partnership will also be looking at providing training and support for volunteers and people working with young people to ensure they have current and relevant qualifications.
They will be holding a launch event shortly and will be inviting new members.
