A DEDICATED student from Nelson and Colne College has achieved the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
Sarah Hey juggled her studies in psychology, biology, geology, and environmental sciences, with the extra-curricular scheme and won gold in 18 months.
Sarah worked through the five sections of the award programme, which include volunteering, physical, skills, expedition, and residential sections.
She has learned to drive, had lessons in horse riding, worked with children at Colne Library, and undertaken a four-day expedition in the Lakes.
