A WOMAN who claimed disability benefit despite regularly playing golf resigned from a prominent position at Clitheroe Golf Club last September, the club has said.
Sheila Riley, of Victoria Street, Clitheroe, was exposed by officials who filmed her playing a round at the club.
At the time she was lady captain-elect at the prestigious club, but secretary Michael Walls said she had now resigned that position, but was still a member.
Mr Walls said: “Mrs Riley resigned from the position of lady captain-elect in September 2008 and consequently a new lady captain-elect was chosen, who is now representing the club.”
Last week Riley admitted failing to notify a change of circumstances which would affect her entitlement to benefit.
