THREE students from Blackburn College are in the running for top design awards.
Alex Hindle, Jacob Holt and Jack Townsend will find out tomorrow if they have been successful in the Northern Design Competition 2009, run by Leeds Metropolitan University.
The competition, open to students studying at a university, college or sixth form in the North, has had 3,000 entries.
Blackburn’s Wayne Hemmingway, who founded the fashion label Red or Dead, is chairing the judging panel.
He said: “The competition celebrates the best young design talent in the North. Design has a strong base in the North and as a ‘northerner’ I am pleased to once again be taking up my position as chair, I am looking forward to seeing what this year’s competition produces.”
