TWO sets of holiday cottages in Pendle villages have been commended with prestigious national awards.
Hill Top Barn, in Barnoldswick, won a Gold Award from Visit Britain, which is the highest quality rating possible, while Height Top Farm self-catering cottages, in Higham, picked up a silver award in the Green Tourism Business Awards.
Tourism leaders from Pendle Council took the opportunity at Friday’s Pendle Tourism Forum to congratulate them.
Richard Sharples, from Hill Top Barn, in Manchester Road, said: “Winning the award will not stop us trying. We want to continuously improve.”
Janet Sharp, owner of Height Top Farm, added: “A lot of our guests choose to stay with us because we have this award.”
Coun Allan Buck presented them each with a bouquet of flowers.
