LANCASHIRE’S top police officer has helped raise £4,100 for a North West charity.
Chief Constable Steve Finnigan said the money was being donated to Heartbeat, which helps local people recover and rebuild their lives after suffering heart problems.
The money was raised through a dinner dance organised by Lancashire Police Federation and held at the De Vere Herons’ Reach Hotel in Blackpool.
A charity raffle raised thousands of pounds on the night, thanks to Lancashire Police Federation’s service providers who kindly donated raffle and auction lots.
Mr Finnigan said: “This was a great celebration event and I am truly delighted that it has raised funds for such a worthy cause as Heartbeat.
“The resources and funds raised by the charity are used primarily for long term cardiac rehabilitation.”
