MORE than 15 East Lancashire railway stations are set to be improved by rail bosses.
Network Rail will install new public address systems at 17 stations – to cut down on complaints from resi-dents about noise.
The company says ‘low level speakers’ will mean train announcements can be heard on platforms but are not as loud outside stations.
The new systems will be installed at Pleasington, Cherry Tree, Mill Hill, Rishton, Church and Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, Huncoat, Hapton, Rose Grove, Burnley Barracks, Burnley Central, Brierfield, Nelson, Colne, Ramsgreave and Wilpshire, Langho and Whalley stations.
