A TEENAGE cyclist is tonight seriously ill in hospital after colliding with a car, police said.
The 15-year-old local boy is said to be in a “serious but stable” condition after the crash in Higher Ramsgreave Road, Blackburn.
Police were called to the scene just after 5.10pm today.
They say it is too early to say how the red mountain bike came to collide with a silver Honda Jazz, which was being driven by a local woman.
The teenager was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital and the stretch of the road between the A666 junction and Barker Road was closed to both ways to traffic.
A Lancashire police spokesman said nobody had been arrested.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone who saw the crash is asked to call 01254 51212.
