A POPULAR nine-hole golf course will soon re-open for the new season.
The Brunshaw course has been closed over the winter months but will open again this weekend.
Brunshaw is a tree-lined parkland nine hole course with views across the Towneley estate.
Simon Goff, Burnley council’s head of green spaces and amenities, said: “We now have some of the best golf facilities in the area as well as a dedicated team staff who work tirelessly to keep the courses in tip top condition throughout the year.
“We have a further £40,000 of improvement works planned for 2009 which shows our continued commitment to provide an all-year round facility.”
The course provides a mix of par three and four holes but also caters for starter golfers who need to hone their skills before trying the main 18-hole course.
Lessons are available from the club professional or the course qualified staff from £13.50 per 40 minute lesson and can be booked at the golf shop on 01282 438473.
