A PRIMARY school has been given a glowing inspection by goverment officials.
Teachers and pupils at Roe Lee Primary, Blackburn, were praised in an Ofsted report.
Inspector Yvonne Clare congratulated staff on their teamwork and determination along with their strong sense of pride in the school.
And pupils were recognised for their behaviour and ‘excellent contribution to the school community’.
Mrs Clare judged the Emerald Avenue school to be good in the majority of areas and outstanding in some, particularly in the encourage-ment of pupils’ development and wellbeing.
Headteacher Mark Geldard said: “We were just so thrilled the dedication of the teachers and the outstanding efforts of the pupils were noted.
“And we are absolutely over the moon that the personal wellbeing of the children came out as outstanding.”
Coun Chris Thayne, executive member for children’s services for Blackburn with Darwen Council, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone whose hard work has achieved such a glowing report.”
