HIGHWAYS bosses have ruled out remodelling busy roundabouts which serve the M65.

Campaigners have expressed fears about the roundabouts at junction 10 of the motorway, which serves Burnley town centre and Padiham.

They said a traffic light system is needed and point to the success of the improvements to the Whitebirk roundabout at junction 6.

However, County Coun Matthew Tomlinson, cabinet member for highways, said: “There are no current plans for alterations at junction 10 of the M65.

“Any plans would be made in conjunction with the Highways Agency as changes would impact on highways maintained by them.”
