TWO new Burnley super-schools are set to be given the go ahead by councillors tomorrow.
Lancashire County Council’s development control committee is likely to approve proposals for the new 1,250-place Blessed Trinity RC College, Ormerod Road, and the 750-pupil Hameldon Community College, Coalclough Lane.
The two schools form part of County Hall’s flagship £250million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme which is being rolled out across Burnley and Nelson.
Plans for a 40-place special needs school in Greenock Street have been recommended for approval by officers.
The proposals for all three schools were delayed last month when councillors decided they wanted to inspect the sites.
The schools form part of Phase Three of the BSF project.
Phase One saw the opening earlier this year of Shuttleworth College in Padiham, Pendle Vale College, Pendle Community High School and Burnley Campus.
