A BLACKBURN woman who was badly hurt in a car crash has launched a legal battle for compensation of up to £100,000.
Oi Ting Li, 33, was driving her Honda in the middle lane of the M4 between junctions 8/9 and 10 when Roger Pritchard tried to move from the fast lane into the middle lane, but hit her car, it is alleged.
Miss Li says her car became uncontrollable, and spun off the carriageway into a ditch, leaving her with soft tissue injuries to her neck, back, arm, and shoulder.
She continues to suffer pain which adversely affects her leisure and sporting activities, and lack of sleep caused by pain interferes with her ability to work, she says.
Now Miss Li, of Blackburn, is claiming damages from Mr Pritchard, of Swansea, after the accident on January 6 2007.
She brands him negligent and says he failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to use his mirrors properly, failed to see her car, tried to move into the middle land when it was unsafe, collided with her car, and failed to wait until he was clear of her car before trying to move into the middle lane.
According to the writ, Miss Li went on to suffer post traumatic stress disorder and an adjustment reaction with depression.
Her psychological injuries have not resolved, and affect her ability to work and lead a normal life, she says.
