PEOPLE have been challenged to come up with a name for Thwaites’ new dray horse.
Following the retirement of the brewery’s 18-year-old star horse Classic, the Blackburn firm turned to Garstang breeder Bob Gardner.
He has provided a new three-year-old colt, which is currently in training to step into Classic’s rather large shoes.
The colt has yet to be named and the brewery are asking the public if they can come up with another classic name – as they did for the colt’s predecessor.
Head horseman Charles Beardmore said the new horse had settled well with its three stunning shire team-mates, and now just needed a name.
He said: “Classic was a legend at Thwaites. We are hoping the new recruit will be talked about with the same enthusiasm.
“We’re open to suggestions from people on what would really capture the spirit of the Thwaites horses.”
The person making the winning suggestion will be given a VIP tour of both Thwaites’ Eanam Stables and the brewery.
