RECYCLING advice is set to be handed out at a series of pre-Christmas supermarket roadshows over the next two weeks.
Burnley Council’s streetscene unit staff will be at Burnley’s Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco stores spreading a message of goodwill and recycling.
They will be manning an information stand, providing information on changes to waste collection dates over the festive season, and general advice on recycling and waste collections services.
They will also be handing out recycling “goodies” and highlighting the benefits of re-using the same bags rather than plastics bags every time you visit a store.
Coun Roger Frost, Burnley Council’s executive member responsible for the environment, said: “The roadshows are an ideal opportunity to pick up some advice on recycling at the same time as some Christmas shopping.”
The council is providing a service to collect and recycle real Christmas trees once the festive season is over.
The roadshows will be held from 10am to 4pm on Friday December 12 at Asda, Princess Way, Burnley; 10am to 4pm on Monday December 15 at Sainsbury’s, Active Way, Burnley; and from 1pm to 6pm on Tuesday December 16 at Tesco, Centenary Way, Burnley.
