A PAIR of fitness instructors have raised over £3,500 for charity by completing the Great North Run.
Janine Philp and Jenny Rogers, who work at Crow Wood Leisure Centre, Burnley, began training in July after Janine’s father died.
They completed the race together in one hour and 55 minutes and raised £3,612.50 for Pendleside Hospice, where Janine’s father was cared for.
And they donned fancy dress tutus for the 13-mile challenge.
Pendleside Hospice, based at Reedley, provides care to local people suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
Current annual running costs exceed £2.4 million, with more than £1.6 million having to be raised from fundraising events and donations.
