A 12-year-old has been missing from home for 10 days.

Police said they were becoming 'seriously concerned' for the safety and wellbeing of Connor Dewhurst, who lives in Colne but is from Accrington.

Connor, 12, was last seen in his bedroom at 3.30pm on November 21.

Now police are appealing for the public's help in finding him.

They fear he could be sleeping rough in the Accrington and Clayton-le-Moors area, but officers also warn that anyone who is hiding him could be breaking the law.

Police Constable Peter Norris said: "There is serious concern for the safety and wellbeing of Connor as he is vulnerable due to his age.

"He has been missing before but never for this long and our priority is for him to return home safely.

"We are concerned that if he may be sleeping rough or with a person who s not aware that he is missing and sought by police."

PC Norris warned anyone against hiding or assisting Connor and added: "They should be aware that they are potentially breaking the law in doing so.

"We have so far received two unconfirmed sightings in the Accrington area in the last few days but we need people to come forward with more information.

"We believe he is likely to still be in or around the Accrington or Clayton area as he has friends and family there."

Connor is slim, with cropped, blond hair. He was last seen wearing a black tracksuit and trainers. He has no mobile phone and only had a small amount of cash.
