A BURGLAR has been moved back to prison from hospital after he became "too troublesome" to be kept there, a court was told.

Kevin Booth, 33, said to suffer mental health problems, had been sent to the hospital under an order whilst he awaits sentence. He was looking forward to going back to jail because he had been kept in solitary confinement for two weeks, Burnley Crown Court heard.

Charles Brown, his barrister, told the court it was no longer practical nor of any benefit to Booth to be kept in the hospital, where he had been for months. He had no objections to going back to custody.

Mr Brown added the defendant's treatment may be the subject of proceedings in another court. He said: "There is a dispute about whether he has received the appropriate treatment whilst on remand."

Booth, of Gloucester Road, Blackburn, has earlier admitted burglary. He is due to be sentenced on December 10 and was remanded in custody.
