LAWYERS in Burnley became so attached to their charity beards and moustaches that they were reluctant to part with them when it came time for the chop.
Solicitors working at Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Magistrates Court have forsaken shaving for the past few weeks to support Pendleside Hospice.
But when it came time for the sextet – Nick Dearing, Nick Cassidy, Dylan Bradshaw, John Nuttall, Mark Irlam and Lee Hammond – to be shorn of their facial adornments, at least two were reluctant.
Nick Dearing, who has had his beard styled into a goatee, said: “I just got attached to it. Dylan has asked the barber for a Lemmy from Motorhead style beard too!”
Court usher Richard Smith also entered into the spirit of things, as staff at Park Lane hair studio on Padiham Road lopped off his ponytail.
Last year the solicitors raised around £1,000 and the group is hopeful they can match that total this time around.
