INVESTIGATIONS into a huge mill fire could take another week to find the cause.
CCTV footage from the Trafalgar Street area is still being studied following the blaze which devastated Woodfield Mill a week ago.
Fire chiefs and forensic experts have been sifting through the debris of the former Lupton and Smallshaw premises, which was ince home to 38 casting workers.
Acting station manager Kevin Fildes said: “We are still investigating the cause.
“We have been reviewing CCTV footage from our own appliances and working with the security company to see if there have been any break-ins.”
Hi-tech recording equipment was left water damaged after 22 fire appliances, and up to 100 firefighters, tackled the mill fire.
Talks are also set to take place between Mr Fildes, forensic experts and representatives from the owners next Monday, so all parties can share their findings.
