ACHIEVEMENTS at Darwen Vale High School and Engineering College were celebrated last night.
Headteacher Lynn Dunning presented dozens of prizes and certificates to pupils from years seven, eight and nine, for achievements ranging from attendance and academic excellence to anti-bullying awards.
Year seven certificates awarded included Scientist of the Year to Jack Gudgeon, year eight prizes included the Diana Princess of Wales Award for Anti-Bullying, collected by Victoria Bee, while year nine prizes included Outstanding National Curriculum Achievement, which was awarded to Levi Webster.
Two pupils performed solos on the night – Teri Birtwistle sang Out There On My Own and Justin Chappell sang Any Dream Will Do before the school choir sang I Know Him So Well.
