Police have named a man killed when his car was in collision with a bus near Chorley yesterday.
Barry Britton, 48, of Highfield Road, Adlington, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision, on the A6 Chorley Road, just before 7.20am.
Three other cars were also involved in the collision with a double decker bus on the southbound lane of the dual carriageway.
Four other people were taken to Royal Bolton Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after the incident.
The A6 southbound was closed while officers conducted an investigation of the scene.
Traffic police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact the road policing unit on 0161 856 7201.
