PUPILS from Burnley learned about life after school at a career event.
Year 11 students from Blessed Trinity RC College, in Coalclough Lane, visited Training 2000 in Blackburn to gain hands-on experience of a range of opportunities.
The event, Time to Innovate and Grow, offered pupils the chance to try careers including car spraying, plumbing and dentistry.
Blessed Trinity pupil Sophie Duckworth said: “I had a really good day. I really enjoyed the dental chair activity. It has also given me a great opportunity to speak to other learners and tutors which has made me start to think about my future career.”
Marilyn Pilkington, a Training 2000 engagement manager, added: “We believe it is vital for pupils to experience all the different options available to them.
“Holding career days provides them with the information, advice and guidance on post-16 opportunities because for many students the traditional A-level route isn’t right for them and days like this give them other options they may not already be aware of.”
