CHILDREN from a Pendle school have joined forces with residents to leave their mark on a back street and enhance community cohesion.
The students from Brierfield’s Alternative School, in Colne Road, teamed up with local people to produce a mosaic.
They plan to mount the colourful piece of art in the back street behind Colne Road, near their school.
The workshop, at Brierfield Community Hall, was led by school founder Kirsty-Anne Pugh.
She said: “Our students mentored younger students from Reedley Primary School and helped them make 132 mosaics.”
The project, was part of the students’ voluntary work for The Duke Of Edinburgh Award scheme.
It was funded by Pendle Council’s neighbourhood management service.
