A CHARITY fundraiser, being staged by church leaders in Colne, is promising star attractions tonight.
St Bartholomew’s, Colne’s parish church, has secured ‘lots’ from celebrities, including Olympic hero Jonathan Edwards, for its silent auction. Others to make donations include cricket legend Sir Ian Botham; peer and former prison inmate Jeffrey Archer; fellow writer Joanna Trollope; Bacup’s Coronation Street star Sam Aston, who plays Chesney; and Bolton comic Dave Spikey.
The auction begins at 4pm, with the entry fee £1 and refreshments available. The last bids on ‘lots’ will be made around 9.30pm.
