A TEENAGER from Blackburn has become the youngest member of his Army troop to pass tests as a Royal Marine Commando.
Jordan Wilson, 17, of Feniscowles, has completed 10 weeks of hard physical and academic testing at his base in Portsmouth.
The former Walton-le-Dale High School pupil will now take his place in the Band Service playing the drums and bugle.
Out of 30 only 25 passed, and Jordan came first in physical tests and third in field training. Jordan’s mum Fiona Wilson, 43, said he had achieved a boyhood dream.
She said: “He belonged to the St James’ Church Lads and Girls Brigade of Darwen and the marines regularly visited them.
“So since the age of five he’s been telling everyone he’s going to be a Royal Marine.
“The whole family are very proud.”
