DARWEN Gala is a ‘town tradition’ and bosses say they want to ‘keep it that way’.
Every year a small group of volunteers get together to plan the annual event.
Next year, the Gala will be held on Saturday August 22, and the committee behind the occasion say they want ideas from residents in Darwen.
Gala organiser John Sturgess said local enthusiasm would be welcomed. He said: “We have some hard-working committee members and it would be great if we could spread the load a bit.
“We need people who have something to offer to the event and we are always looking for new ideas to keep the gala fresh so any suggestions or offers of help would be welcomed.”
