THE headteacher of a Rossendale school is ‘over the moon’ after a recent inspection.
Fearns Community Sports College, Bacup, was described by Ofsted as an ‘improving school with many good features.’ Headteacher Mark Smallwood said: “We are pleased with the results Ofsted have found. However, we are keen to press on with our targets and improve the school even further.”
The report stated: “Mutual respect and good relationships create an inclusive learning environment and a friendly, community atmosphere.
“The school provides good quality care, guidance and support for its students.”
The school was praised particularly for its support of vulnerable young people and the pupils’ behaviour.
