CHRISTMAS time will be a little bit more cheerful for a host of hard-pressed families in Burnley after a county council cash injection.
County councillor Tony Martin secured an extra £160 for Stoops and Hargher Clough Community Association's yuletide programme, through the Lancashire Local Burnley committee.
The association, based at the community centre in Venice Street, hosts a variety of seasonal activities and parties for vulnerable families, throughout November and December, councillors were told.
The cash grant will be used to provide a festive meal for selected families over the Christmas break.
