PUPILS and staff at a Blackburn school are celebrating after being ranked as East Lancashire’s best primary.
Holy Souls RC Primary School, Wilworth Crescent, Blackburn, was 29th in the ‘Top 50 State Primary’ list compiled from official figures by the Sunday Times.
It was the only East Lancashire primary to feature in the list based on SATs scores.
Headteacher Christine Davies said: “We are delighted as it highlights our school’s academic achievements over the last three years.
“This has been possible because of the high level of dedication, encouragement and hard work by everyone in our school family.
“At Holy Souls we endeavour to nurture in our pupils a love of learning which is clearly successful.
"It is a wonderful achievement for the whole school family.”
