PLANS to regenerate a town are set to move a step closer later this week.
Members of Pendle Council’s executive are expected to agree proposals for the regeneration of Nelson centre on Thursday.
As part of the masterplan, borough bosses plan to create a new war memorial within the planned Memorial Square outside the library.
The scheme also includes plans to pedestrianise Market Street and reopening Leeds Road and Manchester Road at a later date.
It is hoped work will start early next year.
