CCTV footage of a suspect police would like to question over a £1,000 jewellery theft has been released.
The thief first targeted Peter Jackson jewellers, Victoria Court, Blackburn, at 10.30am on Friday October 31.
He tried on different items of jewellery before stealing an 18 carat gold bracelet with the numbers 750 engraved.
On Monday November 3, he went into Warren James jewellers, Market Way, also Blackburn, at 10.30am and stole a nine carat gold man’s bracelet, worth £490. The bracelet had the numbers 375 engraved on it.
On both occasions the man told staff he had won the lottery and asked to look at high value pieces before pocketing the goods.
Police are keen to speak to the suspect caught on the CCTV system and are appealing for the public’s help to identify him.
The man is described as white, aged 60, 5ft 9ins and of a heavy build.
He wore blue jeans, a dark jacket and glasses.
Sergeant Alan Clayton said: “The man in the CCTV is quite distinctive looking and I appeal to anyone who recognises him or who has any information about the two incidents to contact us.”
