A MANCHESTER firm has chosen Rossendale as the location for its first office to be based outside the city.

Umar Memon, of Crawshawbooth, will run the Rossendale office of Jack Ross Chartered Accountants, which has its headquarters in Manchester city centre.

Umar, a partner at the firm, said they had decided to expand into Rossendale because of his strong business links in the borough.

The partners chose Futures Park, Bacup, as the site for the new venture which they hope will eventually six jobs.

Umar, who lives off Burnley Road, said: “I grew up in Rossendale and am naturally quite involved in the area.

“It is a place which has a thriving business community so it is the natural choice for our first satellite office.

“All the signs are that a Jack Ross office in Rossendale will be extremely successful and we’re very proud to be in a position to invest in the area.”
