UNSUNG hero Paul Hartley has been presented with two regional awards for a project which has transformed Burnley town centre.
Youth worker Paul Hartley has been presented with distinction by the Arts Council for a series of public exhibitions, under the Big Art banner, which has added a much-needed splash of colour to local landmarks.
Teaming up with professional artists and young people, Paul has been a driving force behind a Channel 4 scheme which has seen 19 images created, which have been projected onto old mill walls, chimneys and viaducts.
Paul was presented with the ‘outstanding achievement in the arts’ award at the art08 event in Liverpool last night, along with a prize in the unsung heroes category.
His £10,000 prize will be used to develop the scheme further in the town in the coming months.
