A BLACKBURN woman will swim the equivalent distance of the English Channel to raise cash for spinal injury research.
Jayne Lee, 37, a gym instructor, will swim the 21 miles at JJB Fitness, Blackburn, on Sunday, December 7, as part of a national challenge by spinal charity Aspire.
She said: “I have suffered from a prolapsed disc and sciatica for 18 months and I know how I suffer and yet I can still get about.
“I wanted to raise money and awareness for Aspire as there are so may people that do suffer spinal injuries but they don't have enough equipment to make life easier. I wanted to help and raise as much money as I can to either aid recovery or give them a little bit more independence to do things for themselves.”
