A LAST chance fundraising bid aims to send seven grieving children to EuroDisney for Christmas.
Supporters aim to raise the last £1,500 needed with a sponsored walk from St Bartholomew’s Church, Great Harwood, this Sunday, at 11am, in memory of Blackburn mum-of-seven Charmaine Gent who died of breast cancer.
Charmaine’s cousin Kelly Barlow, of Great Harwood, wants a special Christmas for the children, aged between 18 and three, who yesterday marked their mum’s 35th birthday at her graveside with flowers.
Kelly has been pledged £2,500 thanks to a generous outpouring of support from Telegraph readers.
She said: “Lance, who is Mitchell, Marshall and Mason’s dad is seen as a dad by the others and he has been supporting them.”
The children have had to split up since Charmaine’s death in October.
Cole, four, Brydon, three, and Nathan, 16, are cared for by 18-year-old Simone, while Mitchell, 12, Marshall, eight, and Mason, six, live with their dad Lance Symcox.
