A SERIES of events aimed at getting new businesses off the ground is taking place throughout next week.
Across East Lancashire the No Limits initiative wants to encourage the people of Blackburn, Darwen, Pendle, Burnley and Hyndburn to embark on their own careers.
There is £30m of government funding going into the No Limits initiative over the next decade to regenerate the area’s economy through supporting new and growing businesses, creating up to 13,000 jobs and 4,000 businesses in the process.
National Enterprise Week starts on Monday and Steve Hoyle, director of No Limits, believes there is chance for businesses to prosper.
He said: “Embedded in the No Limits programme is the aim to unlock the enterprise potential of Pennine Lancashire’s residents.
“By offering free expert advice on everything from writing a business plan to marketing your business, book keeping and even accessing grants and loans, we can help make the process simple.”
The No Limits events start on Tuesday at Accrington Stanley’s Fraser Eagle Stadium where a business advice session for the over 50s will take place from 2.30-6.30pm.
On Wednesday at Burnley’s Turf Moor women are invited to go along to look at what different aspects of running a business and see what support is open to them. This runs from 9.30am to 4pm.
The final event is on Friday from noon to 6pm at Accrington’s Globe Centre and is an exhibition of No Limits’ existing start up businesses.
Steve Rumbelow, chief executive of Burnley Council said: “No Limits has been a beacon for all those who feared the uncertainty of enterprise, deliver-ing business expertise directly into our communities.
“The range of advice, support and finance available is impressive, as are projects designed to encourage young people to think about business.”
No Limits is a partnership which includes the county council, local authorities and the area’s major football clubs which have all had sections converted into business hubs.
