DRAMA students at Nelson & Colne College learnt from some of the best in the business last week.
Benchmark Theatre, who specialise in site-specific performance to raise the profile of drama, raised the bar for AS and A2 students with their recent performance ‘Two’.
Theatre Studies tutor Michelle Gulliver said: “The two actors, Ann and Paul were excellent. They had them eating out of the palm of their hand throughout, having us in fits of laughter at one moment and moved to tears at the end.”
The theatre company took the students through a drama workshop after the play to introduce new methods, techniques and alternative approaches to characterisation.
‘Two’ written by Jim Cartwright, is a comedy where two actors play seven different characters each at a rapid pace.
Alice Firth, a Nelson & Colne student, said: “ I loved the whole performance from the funny scenes to the hard hitting ones.
“It also made me think about my performances.”
Student Ciaran Wilson added: “The play was an inspiring performance which was slick and heart-warming.”
