THE mayor of Pendle invited five business from the borough to a special lunch date to discuss their practice.
Coun Shelagh Derwent hosted the lunch for local businesses, on Friday, November 7, in a bid to find out what they do within their companies.
Each of the companies have recently received grant assistance from Pendle Council’s Economic Development and Tourism Unit.
Coun Derwent, hailed the event a success.
She said: “I am very pleased to have hosted the business lunch.
“It is important to keep the dialogue open with our local businesses, to find out what their issues are and how we can help them in these uncertain economic times.
An enjoyable time was had by all those who came along to the lunch, and the businesses found it useful.
Coun Derwent intends to hold similar events in the future.
She also hopes that the lunches can be continued by future mayors.
