A TOTAL of £1,714 was raised for the Breast Cancer Campaign when Darwen turned pink for a day.
Staff from more than 40 shops and market stalls dressed up in pink on Friday, October 31, and Darwen Market donated a ‘pink stall’ in the run-up to the event, which was used to display prizes and sell raffle tickets.
Organiser Julie Jackson, 40, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in March and is raising money for the charity, said: “I want to thank everyone in Darwen for their support.
"It is a fantastic amount to raise.”
