A MOTORCYCLIST was knocked off her bike in a hit-and-run incident.
The incident happened at 10.50pm on Sunday when a motorcyclist was riding her Black Honda Super Sprint along Whalley Road, towards Clayton-le-Moors..
After she approached the junction of Canal Street, having past the passed through the traffic lights at the Hare and Hounds pub, police said a light blue or grey Nissan Micra pulled out of the junction into her path, causing her to fall off her bike.
The car then made off and a passer by called an ambulance.
The rider was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment to minor injuries. She has since been sent home after suffering from a pain in her right elbow and lower back. The bike was damaged extensively.
Police are investigating the collision and are appealing for the driver of the Micra to come forward.
Police Constable Stuart Eddleston said: “The motorcyclist had a lucky escape as her injuries could have been much more serious. I urge anyone who saw what happened to contact the police and in particular I appeal to the driver of the Nissan Micra to get in touch.”
The driver of the car was described an Asian man with a slim build.
