A BLACKBURN college governor will have no involvement in the running of the establishement until a sexual assault investigation is completed.
Junaid Qureshi MBE, 60, from Blackburn, was last week detained by police officers when he arrived back at Manchester Airport from Pakistan.
Police said a woman claimed she had been the victim of a series of ‘serious’ sexual assaults.
At the time the college said it would review the Mr Qureshi’s position.
A statement has been released following a meeting between Mr Qureshi, college chairman Sir Bill Taylor and principal Ian Clinton.
It said: “Whilst it is not yet a matter for the college to consider more formally, it was agreed by all that Mr Qureshi will have no involvement at the college until the due processes of the law have run their course.”
