POLICE were today growing ‘increasingly concerned’ for a missing mother of two.

Janet Hughes, 46, from Heatley Close, Blackburn, but who has family connections to Burnley, has not been seen since 2pm on Monday September 22.

She told family she said she was going to visit relatives in Edinburgh and Doncaster.

But her partner reported her missing on Friday October 24 after she failed to return home.

Police believe Janet may be in the Blackpool area as she told another relative she was going to visit the town.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact police.

Police Constable Lyndsey Armstrong said: “We are really concerned for Janet as she has been missing for over a month and I appeal to her to let us know she is okay. We just want her to return home safe and well.

“We know Janet also has family connections in Burnley, South Yorkshire and Doncaster and I urge anyone who has seen her or knows where she is to contact us.”

Janet has a Scottish accent, collar-length dark-brown highlighted hair and brown eyes. She is stocky and was last seen wearing a white blouse, jeans and a black jacket with squares on.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0845 1 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
