TWO Ribble Valley women are to take part in the New York City Marathon to raise cash for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Denise Gaffing, of Wilpshire, and Alison Bury, of Whalley, are hoping to raise £1,000 for the charity, and are already more than half-way towards their target.
They have been training hard, taking part in the Leeds half-marathon last month, as well as other civic fun runs.
Denise said: “We have been running for miles almost every day in the wind and rain, but we’re also planning our New York adventure.
"We’re really going to make the most of it and take in the sights –- and the shops – while we’re there!”
