FAMILY and friends of a young boy who survived meningitis are raising money to fight the disease.
Four-year-old William Baldwin, of Bent Lane, Colne was left fighting for his life in 2007.
William’s parents Chris and Jackie have raised £3,345 for the Meningitis Trust, but want to raise over £5,000 this year.
Amanda Meachin, chief executive of Community and Business Partners and a close family friend, has called on several companies for support.
Community and Business Partners donated two corporate hospitality tickets to Burnley FC, Darwen-based STL donated a bottle of 2000 Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage Champagne and Pendle Leisure Trust gave tickets to the family pantomime and Stylistics tickets at The Muni.
Garden Doctors donated a voucher to spend in their new shop, in Albert Road, Colne, Christian Smith, of Barrowford donated a £30 goody bag and a voucher towards a cut and style and Burnley FC offered a signed match ball.
Amanda donated a signed Blackburn Rovers shirt and match tickets.
