An inquest has been opened into the death of a 40-year-old Burnley woman who was hit by a car as she walked along the Eastbound carriageway of the M65.
Factory worker Patsy Ann Toomey, of Reed Street, died as a result of multiple injuries just hours after she is believed to have discharged herself from the Royal Blackburn Hospital and walked four miles to an area between junction four and five.
The inquest was adjourned.
