DARWEN-raised vet Mark Lingard has been short-listed as Equine Vet of the Year.
Mark, 48, lived in the Sunnyhurst area of Darwen until he was 20, when the family moved to the Fylde.
He has worked in Australia, Hong Kong and China and now has a practice in Out Rawcliffe near Great Eccleston dealing with horses and small animals.
He was nominated for the Pet Plan Equine Insurance award by clients for his work with horses.
He is one of three vets whittled down from 150 by a panel of independant judges and will find out if he has won at a ceremony in London next Thursday.
