A BLACKBURN 14-year-old boy was given a £40 fine by police for lighting a firework.
Officers gave the schoolboy a penalty notice and took him home after he was caught near houses in Troy Street on Monday afternoon.
Police are warning youngsters that it is illegal for anyone under 18 to buy or use fireworks and officers will continue to target anyone behaving anti socially.
