STAFF at Whalley Abbey receive an award for excellence from the North West Multi-Faith Tourist Association (NWMFTA).

The tourist attraction has been owned by the Diocese of Blackburn since 1926 and its Retreat and Conference House reopened in September 2005 after an extensive renovation.

The Marque of Excellence awarded to the Abbey, recognises sacred spaces such in the north west that reach the association's standard of excellence in welcoming visitors.
