PUPILS are jumping for joy at Heathland school after the school was judged ‘outstanding’ in some categories of its latest Ofsted report.

The school was judged outstanding for the behaviour of pupils and for the quality of provision for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. In all other categories it was judged as ‘good’.

The nursery was also included in the inspection and was also judged outstanding for the personal development and well being of children and for the welfare, health and safety of the children in Early Years.

Vice Principal, Jacquie Hide, said “We are very proud of this report. The high standard has been achieved by a dedicated team of staff who believe in our school and what it stands for – that every child is an individual and deserves to reach their full potential.”

Heathland School and Nursery is on Sandy Lane, Accrington and has 96 pupils from three months to 16 years.
